The are numerous examples of many of the Mālikī scholars encouraging the people to adhere to the Sunnah and how this is done.

Abū ‘Amr ad Dānī رحمه الله mentioned this by stating, “From this (i.e. the position of Ahl Sunnah wal Jama’ah) is submitting and adhering to the sunan. The sunnah is not to be opposed by opinion, nor is it to be rejected by qiyās (analogy). Whatever the Salaf as Sālih explained, we explain it as such and what they did, we do.

Likewise, what they left, we leave. And what is befitting for us is to refrain from what they refrained from. We do not part ways with their respective positions in what they differed in or what they explained[1].”
